Preliminary design for a proposed fire-prevention and -mediation assessment district initiative. “Measure Q” was a working title. The effort to get the assessment on the ballot was ultimately abandoned for lack of funding.

Wildflower Run T-shirt

Design for the 2012 Run t-shirts. The Wildflower Run is a 100% non-profit fundraiser organized by the Morgan Hill branch for the AAUW Tech Trek program of 1-week science & math summer camps for 13-year-old girls. This is a pro-bono design for the commemorative shirts given to the runners.

A business card for a kindergarten-through-3d grade substitute teacher who is also a reading specialist. The card was intended to be placed in school office pigeonhole mailboxes and bulletin boards for advertising purposes; visual impact was thus quite important.

A T-shirt design for the Santa Clara University HUB Student Writing Center. The client strongly wanted a dark design emphasizing the HUB tagwords of "Celebrate [writing]," "Support [writing]," and the tagline "One page at a time."

The Origin of the Quail Logo

This was originally done as a typographical exercise, just for the fun of it. The quail image is made entirely from 22 instances of the letter “Q”, in various typefaces. The letterforms were rotated and/or flipped, but never distorted or modified. The typefaces used are listed at the bottom of the image.
